ONE TERM IS ENOUGH PART II

Sometime ago I posted an article on this site entitled "ONE TERM IS ENOUGH." Now I'd like to offer further evidence to bolster my advocacy of this position.

The Drudge Report this morning
has an article, from the AP, entitled, "Lawmakers being investigated." Most of those listed are Republicans but party affiliation really doesn't matter. The salient fact is the length of time these people have been enriching themselves while ostensibly "serving" the public.

I won't go into the charges here. The purpose of this posting is to show that the longer people are in government the more likely they are to become corrupt.

Here's the list from the AP story as it appeared on Drudge:

Ted Stevens of Alaska serving his sixth term. Stevens has been in the Senate for over thirty years. It's time for him to retire.

Don Young of Alaska serving his eighteenth term in the House. Both Young an Stevens were involved in the "Bridge to Nowhere" fiasco, one of the most blatant wastes of taxpayer money in recent years. Young should go home and stay there.

John Doolittle of California serving his ninth term in the House. It's time to retire, John.

Jerry Lewis of California serving his fifteenth term in the House.  At the end of this term (hopefully his last) Lewis will have been in the House for thirty years. Sayonara Jerry.

Gary Miller of California now in his fifth term, What is it about the West Coast?

Rick Renzi of Arizona serving his third term in the House. Pretty precocious of Renzi. It only took him three terms to run afoul of the law.

William J. Jefferson of Louisiana serving his ninth term in the House. He of the $90,000 in the freezer fame. If my memory serves me correctly Jefferson also commandeered trucks during Hurricane Katrina to remove valuables from his home when they were needed elsewhere to aid less fortunate victims of the storm. Go to jail. Go straight to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect your lavish pension.

Alan Mollohan of West Virginia serving his thirteenth term in the House. Who knows what he has perpetrated in his over 25 years in Washington?

I have a feeling that this just scrapes the surface of the corruption in Washington. It would probably be a good idea to apply the one term limitation to all levels of government.

DON'T VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS!!!!!

This makes me FURIOUS!!!!!!
