RANDOM THOUGHTS

Barak Obama, the Democrat nominee for the presidency, when he was a member of the Illinois legislature twice opposed The Born Alive Infant Protection Act. This act would have made it mandatory to render medical aid to an infant born alive as the result of a botched abortion. Obama's actions led to the deaths of an unknown number of helpless babies through neglect and starvation. I'm sure he doesn't know or care how many babies died but it's a little more important than how many houses John McCain owns. Obama isn't worthy to run for president. He belongs in a mental institution.

Harry Reid says, "Coal is making us sick. Oil is making us sick." This is the same dolt who said "The Surge" was a failure before it had even started. This is the Democrat Senate Majority Leader. Has he been checked for Alzheimer's lately? He makes ME sick.

I see the Republicans have added a global warming plank to their platform and deleted a plank calling for drilling in ANWR. No doubt this was done at the behest of McCain in spite of the growing evidence that global warming is nothing more than a natural climate cycle. By the way John we got into this energy mess because of limited drilling.

China cheated at the Olympics!! I'm shocked, shocked!!!

With callous disregard for the average citizen who is being whipsawed by rising inflation due to high fuel prices the Democrat controlled Congress went on a five week vacation. Anyone who votes for these bums is a fool.

Pope Nancy Pelosi I has overruled Pope Benedict on church policy regarding abortion.

The Obama gang is trying to censor all criticism of the anointed one. It's the Progressive thing to do.

ABC reporter arrested for "trespassing" on a public sidewalk. You don't suppose the fact that he was trying to film Dem senators and big money contributors leaving a secret meaning had anything to do with it do you. The police thugs who roughed up the reporter before arresting him claim they had  signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel which claims they own the sidewalk. Asa Eslocker, the reporter involved, should sue the hotel for a zillion.

A PRO-AMERICAN PRESIDENT

I've been watching the presidential campaign for quite a while now as have most people with a TV set. After seeing what the major parties are offering as potential presidents I have decided to enter the race. I'm sure I could do a much better job than either McCain or Obama.

This will be a new kind of campaign. No flying around in private jets. In fact my whole campaign will be conducted from my living room. When elected my administration will be conducted mainly from Washington, DC. I don't have a ranch in Crawford, Texas or a compound Hyannisport. I do have a mobile home in North Carolina which I may want to visit when I get lonesome for the mountains.

This campaign will be conducted entirely by email. No campaign contributions, which I consider to be bribes, will be accepted. No tying up your phone with requests to vote for me. Just an occasional blog which you can read or delete as you wish.

That being said here's my Pro-America platform:

1. A BALANCED BUDGET

For the current fiscal year we have a budget of $3.2 TRILLION. This is absolutely obscene. The treasury took in a record amount of taxes and we are still running a deficit.

Here's how I intend to balance the budget. No more foreign aid. Since WWII the American taxpayer has been soaked for trillions of dollars in foreign aid. What have we to show for it? Our solid allies can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Poverty and privation are as prevalent as ever. It's time the rest of the world stopped using us as a crutch. A lot of the money winds up in the Swiss bank accounts of third rate dictators anyway.

All government agencies, except defense, must cut their budgets by 10%. That's in real dollars not in their projected budget increases. For instance if a particular agency had a budget of $10 billion this year next year it only gets $9 billion. Anyone who thinks this can't be done doesn't realize how much waste there is in government. Does anyone remember that in the Clinton administration the government was actually shut down for a time? If you just had to be reminded of this you can see how much of an impact no government at all had. So 10% less government should be a boon to all. Gain for us about $300 billion +.

A balanced budget would mean a sounder dollar and therefore a reduction in the cost of oil among other benefits.

For further enlightenment on stopping the giveaways do a Google search on "Not Yours to Give."

2. ENERGY INDEPENDENCE

Energy prices most notably gasoline and diesel have skyrocketed to unheard of heights. Americans in the middle and lower income groups, that is the people who really make America work, have been badly hurt by this precipitous rise in prices.

The candidates of the major parties have finally come around to the realization that we must increase the supply of petroleum by drilling to exploit our abundant oil reserves. Both espouse cap and trade which has been instituted in the European Union. This system has proved so expensive for certain industries that they are considering moving out of the EU. They would move to countries with less stringent pollution standards like Saudi Arabia. Both Obama and McCain say we should develop alternative fuels and renewable sources of energy. this may be fine for 2050 or 2075 but it's not the answer for the short run. There has been little mention from either of them regarding new (old?) sources of energy for which the technology already exists. Oil from coal was used to keep Hitler's Panzers running until the end of World War II over 60 years ago. We also have abundant deposits of oil shale from which petroleum could be extracted.

As President my first action would be to declare a national emergency, because that's what it is, even though the other candidates don't seem to think so. I would open up all sources of oil to drilling. I would start a crash program for bringing all sources of energy which are now practical to the American market. Nuclear, gasoline from coal, greater use of coal in electric generating plants, building oil refineries, etc.

Higher CAFE standards and new sources of energy are fine but not in the short term. Right now we need oil and lots of it. The other candidates either don't know this or are afraid they might offend the Sierra Club and their ilk. The answer to our energy problems is in developing our own natural resources.

All we need is for the government nay sayers to get out of the way. American ingenuity and our attitude of we can do it are the answers to our problems. Our greatest enemies aren't overseas they are the Congress and the bureaucrats in Washington, DC.

As President I'll tell them to get out of the way or just get out.
.

3. BORDER SECURITY

Our borders haven't been secure for many years. Largely because Presidents of both parties have violated their oath of office by not enforcing our immigration laws. The Border Patrol which is supposed enforce border security has been understaffed and hamstrung by ridiculous regulations. In addition George Bush's hatchet man Johnny Sutton the US Attorney in the area has taken every opportunity to persecute Border Patrol Agents for doing their job.

To remedy this situation I would withdraw our troops from Europe and South Korea and station them on our borders. The countries involved have been leaning on us to defend them for over 50 years. It's time they stood on their own two feet. there would be enough manpower to seal the borders and to rotate the troops periodically.

Incidentally, one of the first actions I would take in my first day in office would be to pardon Ramos and Compean who are still imprisoned in Bush's Gulag and are two of Johnny Sutton's victims.
.
4. STRICT INTERNAL ENFORCEMENT IMMIGRATION LAWS

Non-enforcement of our immigration laws has led to a flood of illegal aliens who are taking jobs away from Americans and legal immigrants. These illegal aliens are also depressing wages. Since rounding up the 20 million or so illegals would take untold years and resources the answer is to tackle the problem from a different angle.

The penalty for hiring illegal aliens is a $10,000 fine or 5 years in prison. As president I would attack this problem by prosecuting company executives who violate this law. I would also encourage judges to forgo the fine aspect and mete out jail terms for such violations. Some CEOs doing 5 years hard time should make others think twice before hiring these people. Their terms wouldn't be served in "country club prisons" either. Such posh prisons would be abolished. So-called white collar criminals would do their time in the general population just like any other crook.

If they couldn't get work the illegals would have no other choice but to go home.

5. REFORM CAMPAIGN FINANCE LAWS

As we have suffered through this seemingly endless primary campaign we have been treated to announcements that one candidate has raised $30 million this month and another candidate has raised $25 million in another month. This is absolutely obscene. I know I've used this term before when alluding to the amount of money in the Federal budget but that's exactly what it is.

Is the presidency of the United States and leadership of the free world for sale?

Something must be done to stop what amounts to large scale bribery in financing elections. McCain-Feingold is an unmitigated disaster. Let's repeal it. Let's let people donate as much as they want to the candidate of their choice. But.....Let's publish their names and how much they have donated AND LET'S LIMIT CAMPAIGN SPENDING. Let's put a limit of 25 cents per vote cast in the last election for campaign spending by all candidates running for president. That is if 100 million votes were cast in the last election for president a maximum of $25 million could be spent by each candidate. Any excess donations would go into the US Treasury General Fund. God knows we could use a little extra cash the way these people in Washington waste our money.

By limiting spending the campaign would be shortened. With a shortened campaign the candidates might talk about the issues and what they intend to do as president instead of engaging in personal attacks as they do now.

6. SENSIBLE TRADE POLICIES.

Our trade policies are ridiculous. We have ceded control of our trade policies to international organizations. Constitutionally our trade policies should be controlled by the Congress of the United States. The Congress has given control of our trade policies to these international organizations so they can work on more important things like National Orange Month and Take Your Daughter to Work Day. As a result we are being taken to the cleaners by other countries.

A number of years ago Japanese trade negotiators banned American made skis from Japan because they said their snow was different. Negotiations over this went on for months. Our representatives could have ended this impasse with one sentence, "Our skis in or your cars out!"

When the House wouldn't take up the Colombian Free Trade Agreement President Bush complained that it would be to our advantage because Colombia charged tariffs on our products but we didn't charge tariffs on theirs. I'm sure the answer to this problem is obvious to anyone not in government. We don't need another free trade agreement to solve this problem. All we have to do is tell Colombia to take their tariffs off or we'll put tariffs on their products.

We should also withdraw from all international trade organizations and take charge of our own trade policies. We don't need bureaucrats in Belgium telling us how to trade with other nations.

These are the kind of sensible trade policies I advocate.

7. OUR TAX SYSTEM IS A MESS. IT'S TIME TO GET RID OF IT AND START OVER

It seems to me that a flat tax would be the fairest and simplest way to go. Under this system you could fill out your tax return on a postcard. No more voluminous forms or complicated and confusing instructions.

We should also repeal the Sixteenth Amendment and at the same time pass a new amendment requiring a two-thirds majority to raise taxes except in times of national emergency.

The death tax should go. How fair is it to put a tax on dying. Especially on money that has already been taxed. Isn't dying bad enough without adding insult to injury by taxing the money the decedent leaves behind?

Corporate taxes should also be reduced. With lower corporate taxes industry would start coming back to the United States from overseas.

Almost everyone, except left wingers, recognizes that high taxes are bad for economic progress. My administration will endeavor to eliminate unnecessary programs and lower taxes as much as possible.

Cast a write-in vote for THE PRO-AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

That's my platform so far. Other planks may be added. I don't have a staff to help me formulate these things. Just me.

ARROGANT INGRATES

The South Korean government's Truth and Reconciliation Commission is currently investigating civilian casualties which occurred over 50 years ago. The commission has more than 200 cases on it's docket alleging indiscriminate killing of civilians by US forces mainly by air attacks. If true it is tragic but things like this happen in war.

Now surviving family members of some of those killed are seeking are seeking compensation from the US government. They say that they should be compensated because the deaths of their relatives are the fault of the US military. What they seem to forget is that it is also the "fault" of the US military that they are not living under the oppressive regime of the most brutal dictatorship on Earth, that of the People's Republic of Korea.

What wasn't reported in the news story is whether the commission is also investigating atrocities by Chinese and North Korean forces. Probably not since they know they would be wasting their time looking for compensation from any communist regime. Only Uncle Sap might be apt to come across with a few bucks.

While we are on the subject of compensation we should ask if the people and government of South Korea are contemplating any sort of compensation for the thousands of American GIs who gave their lives to give freedom to South Korea. (Cynical laughter in the background)

Any claims for compensation by Koreans should be dismissed out of hand by our government. I doubt if Washington has enough backbone to do so.

RENEGADES !!!!

After being rebuked by the Supreme Court's ruling that the District of Columbia's gun prohibition law was unconstitutional the DC council passed another gun ban which in some ways is more restrictive than the one which the Court threw out.

Semi-automatics are prohibited under this new law. Only revolvers and Derringers. Any gun which is loaded from the bottom is considered a machine gun. When registering guns must be left with the police department for ballistics testing and there are  fees of $60 for each gun registered and only one gun can be registered every 90 days. There are other restrictions such as the gun must be locked or disassembled until there is imminent danger which will leave the honest citizen at the mercy of criminals.

This is obviously a blatant attempt to disobey the Supreme Court's ruling. At least one member of the city council has admitted that this law is unconstitutional. It is therefor an illegal law and every American citizen has the obligation and the duty to disobey it.

Washington gun owners should march on city hall with their guns and demand that this illegal law be repealed. And they should keep marching until it is repealed.

The Second Amendment to the US Constitution says. "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." This DC gun ban is not only in violation of the high court's ruling but is also a violation of every American's Constitutional rights. Of course this is typical of any level of government run by "Liberals" or "Progressives" as they like to call themselves but in fact they are in fact left-wing fascists.

Honest citizens of the District of Columbia must stand up for their rights or they don't deserve to have them. Our Founding Fathers knew what action to take when, as is stated in the Declaration of Independence,  "confronted with a long train of abuses." They revolted. This is what the citizens of DC should do. This is what the government of DC deserves.

In 1775 Paul Revere rode through the Massachusetts countryside rousing the Minute Men with his call of. "To Arms! The British are coming." To arms citizens of DC don't let  the tyrants in City Hall take away your God given rights.

March for your right to keep and bear arms!

DRILL, DIG OR DIE

"The Congress shall have the power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Impost/s and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and GENERAL WELFARE of the United States;"
Article I Section 8 of the Constitution of the United States

If anyone can think of anything the Congress has done lately to enhance the General Welfare of these United States I wish he/she would let me know what it is. I can't think of anything Congress has done except engage in bickering and finger pointing on a grand scale and, of course, spend us into an ever deepening deficit hole.

The latest outrage in the spending department is the passage in the Senate of H.R. 5501 a bill to help third World countries combat AIDS, TB and Malaria. This bill spends $50 billion in taxpayer money and triples the amount previously spent. The vote in the Senate was 80-16. Every Democrat voted for this boondoggle and considering the number of votes in favor they had plenty of help from Republicans. All 16 nay voters were Republican. Voters with a senator running for re-election take note.

Speaking of outrages the Democrats are still blocking every attempt by Republicans to increase energy supplies. Our politicians are wrangling over ANWR and delaying, as far as I can tell, debate about oil shale, gasoline from coal and other abundant sources of energy.

We must drill AND dig our way out of this problem. We must press ahead on all fronts including wind and nuclear. The politicians are not working for the "General Welfare of the United States" rather they are placing their own welfare above the security and welfare of their countrymen who they swore to serve.

Abraham Lincoln said:
"At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.

How right Lincoln was. Our greatest enemies are not China and Iran. Instead they are our own selfish, power hungry politicians. We have an opportunity this November to send a profound message by defeating a large number of incumbents.
A message that would reverberate through the halls of Congress. There would be change in the "Public be damned" attitude that now pervades congress.

As Lincoln warned we would be committing suicide by returning these scoundrels to office.

MORE TAXES ?!?!

World Net Daily has run a poll asking for their reader's opinion about a rumored increase in the tax on gasoline. Because of the high price of gasoline, which the Democrat controlled Congress has done nothing to alleviate, people are driving less resulting in a reduction of revenue from the gas tax. Because of this short fall the Highway Trust Fund will not be able to finance some highway repairs and improvements. Now they are proposing a 10 cent increase in the tax on a gallon of gas.

The question posed in WND was as follows:
Do you expect Congress to take beneficial action on energy before it adjourns?
The top two answers were: No, and that's why these morons have approval numbers in the single digits and sinking39% (399)
No, I expect these numbskulls to actually take detrimental action, such as raising gasoline taxes38% (395)

No other answer got more than 4% and no yes answer got more than 2%. This reflects the low esteem in which the current Congress is held. Granted the WND readership in basically conservative but considering the single digit approval rating of Congress it would seem that the results wouldn't be very much different no matter who participated in this poll.

It is estimated that by the end of 2009 the Highway Trust Fund will have a deficit of $3 billion so naturally Democrats do what Democrats always do. They propose a tax increase. They want to take more money from those least able to afford it. The average working man who has to use his car to go to work and maybe to take a little drive on the weekend to relieve the stress of the work week and the aggravation of a do-nothing Congress.

So the possibility of a gasoline tax increase is on the horizon. This in the wake of voting a TRIPLING to $50 billion foreign aid supposedly for the purpose of helping third world countries with their AIDS, TB and malaria problems. It would seem that our "representatives" have their priorities very mixed up. Not only will this add to our already onerous national debt but most of it will surely end up in the Swiss bank accounts of African dictators.

The really sad part of this whole situation is that voters will go to the polls this November and return at least 90% of these rats to office.

IS A GENERAL STRIKE THE ANSWER?

Congress is diddling while the United States burns. Average Americans are suffering because of high energy prices and instead of doing something about it our overpaid Congress is in recess. Apparently these fools don't know a crisis when they see one. Both sides continue to play politics with this vital issue.

We need oil from shale. We need oil from coal. We need oil from offshore wells and we need oil from wells in the continental United States.

Politicians say we can't drill our way out of this problem. We'll never know unless we try. Even if we can't is doing nothing the answer?

Increasing domestic oil production would drastically cut our balance of payments deficit, curb inflation by strenghthening the dollar and enhance our national security.

They have been petitioned and flooded with phone calls, emails and faxes but they pay no attention to their constituents.

Drastic means are called for.

Just about the only means that hasn't been tried is a nationwide general strike. Maybe shutting down the country will finally get their attention.

NICKNAME

Just a heads-up for my many fans (both of you). I have taken the nickname "overhaul" for use in answering comments. I never had a nickname but decided to take this one when Sue in her comment  said Congress needed an overhaul. So thanks to Sue and when you see a comment with the nickname "overhaul" you'll know who it is.

LYING SWINE

The country is in the throes of a severe energy shortage. The average American is paying through the nose for gasoline. There is a simple solution to this problem but it is being used as a political football.

Even a simple minded dolt knows that the answer is to increase supplies of oil. Republicans have put forward proposals for offshore drilling and time after time the Democrats have voted them down. They say we can't drill our way out of the problem. They are lying swine. They won't even let us try. Americans can do it. But they won't even let us try.

There are other sources of energy such as oil shale and oil-from-coal but they won't even let us try.

America's problems can be solved with some strong leadership (sadly lacking in recent years) and American know-how.

The politicians aren't listening to us. The only way to get their attention is at the ballot box. If a large number of incumbents are defeated this November it will send the message that they better start listening or they'll be out of their cushy jobs.

I don't care what party they are from DON'T VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS!!!

Unfortunately, I don't think many voters will heed this suggestion. The American sheeple will march to the polls and send the same political hacks back to Washington.

FIRE THEM !!!!

The latest poll shows that Congress has an approval rating of 12%.

Twelve per cent !!

If these incompetent boobs were in private industry they'd be fired.

So that's what we should do. We have an opportunity, in November, to take back control of the government.

Time after time these rats have ignored the wishes of their constituents which probably accounts for their low popularity rating.

They tried to push through amnesty, they have called making English the official language racist, they refuse to do anything to alleviate the energy crisis and many other instances of incompetence which I can't remember right now because I'm so furious I can't think straight.

For this incompetence we pay them $165,000 plus lavish pensions and many perks that they don't deserve.
They are not worth 2 cents a year.

Let's fire them all. I've said this before and I'll say it again - DON'T VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS.

Some people say there are some good ones who will be lost in such a case. Damn few and they apparently are powerless to get anything good enacted.

Democrat members of both houses have made scurrilous statements besmirching the honor of our servicemen. In the same vein our Border Patrol Agents have been persecuted and jailed by George Bush's hatchet man Johnny Sutton. We need a top to bottom housecleaning in Washington. Let's start in November by throwing the rascals out.

ANWR AND OFFSHORE DRILLING - DISTRACTIONS?

I don't claim to be an expert on these matters but I do have a little common sense. As opposed to our "representatives" who leave their common sense at the DC border.

Most of the debate in Congress centers around drilling in ANWR and offshore. It seems to me that this is the wrong way to go about increasing our energy supplies.

Drilling in ANWR, while it has vast reserves, would require bringing the necessary equipment and personnel to a remote area where severe weather conditions would probably limit operations. Once the oil is found and ready for shipment it would either have to be loaded on tankers ( is ANWR accessible by sea in winter?) or transported via pipeline, possibly a spur of the Alaska Pipeline if it has sufficient capacity.

As for offshore drilling very expensive oil-drilling platforms must be constructed, which are the size if small towns, then towed out to the appropriate spot before drilling can begin.

And besides the "experts" tell us it will take seven to ten years before we can expect any oil from these sources.

These seem to be the most expensive and time consuming ways to get the oil we need.

My solution, and the one our "representatives" should be pursuing, is to go full bore on coal to oil production. The technology for this process has been around for many years. Hitler's panzers were running on gasoline derived from coal over sixty years ago. There are many abandoned factory buildings, thanks to our ill-conceived trade policies, which could be adapted to house the equipment used for the conversion. Coal is readily available and should be stock piled while the conversion plants are under construction.

There are also vast deposits of oil shale in our western states which could be exploited.

The ease of transportation and shorter time factors of producing energy within the Continental United States make coal to oil and oil shale much more practical than ANWR and offshore drilling.

I'm not saying we shouldn't drill in ANWR and offshore. What I am saying is that our "representatives" are going at this problem the wrong way - as usual.

The politicians like to make headlines for themselves by calling oil company executives to testify and accusing them of price gouging. Consider this: oil company profit on a gallon of gas 4 cents. Federal tax on a gallon of gas 18.4 cents. So who is doing the gouging?

This makes me  FURIOUS !!!!

WE CAN DO IT

The politicians in Washington, mostly Democrats, keep telling us that we can't drill our way out of the energy crisis we are now faced with. This reminds me of the time Jimmy Carter said the nation was gripped by a great malaise. Todays politicians don't understand the average American any better than Jimmy Carter did.

America is the "can do" country. Whenever someone says that something is beyond the abilities of the American people I am reminded of what happened just before the Battle of Midway in World War II. The aircraft carrier Yorktown had been severely damaged in the Battle of the Coral Sea. She limped back to Pearl Harbor where it was estimated that repairs would take three months in a stateside shipyard. But the Japanese Imperial Fleet was bearing down on Midway Atoll with the intention of luring the American fleet into battle and destroying it.

So Americans got to work on the Yorktown which was badly needed to bolster the outnumbered American fleet. Three days after it's arrival in Pearl Harbor the Yorktown went to sea to do battle with the Japanese. It didn't take three months. American ingenuity and sweat had the Yorktown ready to take on the Japanese Fleet in THREE DAYS!

The Yorktown and it's crew performed valiantly in battle and helped to deal the Japanese Fleet a crushing defeat from which it never recovered. Luckily, no politicians or environmental wackos were involved in getting the Yorktown ready for battle.

I hold no brief for politicians of either party. This time the Republicans seem to be on the right side of the argument. They offer bill after bill to increase the supply of oil but the Democrats say no to everything. The American people will solve the problem if the politicians will just get the hell out of the way.

THROW THEM OUT !

The country is in a crisis because of high energy costs and our "representatives" in Washington are doing nothing to alleviate the situation. Our economy is being ruined and our "representatives do nothing. Food prices are soaring and our "representatives" do nothing.

One of the presidential candidates is campaigning on a platform of change. I agree we need change.

The real crisis is not an energy crisis. The crisis is that our "representatives" don't represent us any more. They represent special interests that are opposed to the welfare of our republic. We must restore representative government ourselves. Politicians won't do it for us. They are the problem.

The answers to our problems are simple but our representatives refuse to implement them: develop our natural resources, build the fence, cut wasteful spending.

Letters, faxes and emails to politicians won't change anything. We must do it ourselves. The only thing politicians understand is the ballot box. Incumbents think they have a God-given right to stay in office for life. We must throw them out.

Don't vote for an incumbent. We have to keep these people afraid of having to work for a living by being voted out of office.

DON'T BE STUPID AND VOTE FOR AN INCUMBENT !  THROW THE BASTARDS OUT !!!

I'M FURIOUS AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO.

MY PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

After looking over the unacceptable candidates we are stuck with this year I have decided to run a write-in campaign entirely by email.

Of course I know I can't win the election but a large number of write-in votes for me will be the equivalent of voting "None of the above" which the politicians don't dare put on the ballot.

The main planks of my platform are these:

1. A balanced budget.
2. Energy independence.
3. Border security.
4. Strict internal enforcement of immigration laws.
5. Reform campaign finance laws.
6. Repeal the Sixteenth Amendment and reform the tax code.
7. Sensible  trade policies.

Anyone who would like to see amplification of these planks can do so by sending their email address to: chnewstart2008@gmail.com.

DON'T VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS!!!

A FEW THINGS OF INTEREST

One again the Senate has voted not to tap our abundant petroleum resources. Once again the Senate has voted to leave us at the mercy of countries who hate us. Senator Durbin has said that we can't drill our way out of our energy problem. What an idiot.  To me this borders on treason.

The following is an excerpt from an AP story:
"For April, energy prices were unchanged and gasoline prices even fell by 2 percent, a decline that would strike motorists as strange, given that they have been watching the price of gasoline rise relentlessly in recent weeks.

However, since gasoline prices normally rise in April, the 5.6 percent increase in gasoline prices for the month was turned into a 2 percent drop after the government adjusted for normal seasonal variations -- little comfort to people now paying pump prices that hit a new national record of $3.758 per gallon on Thursday, up nearly 40 cents in the past month."

Only in Washington could a 5.6% increase turn into a 2% decline.

President Bush is currently on a trip to Saudi Arabia to beg for increased oil production. See the beginning of this article for the reason a president of the United States must go on bended knee to beg  for more oil to keep our economy from collapsing. He'll probably suffer tremendous humiliation when they refuse.

Is it any wonder that the approval ratings of the president and congress are at an all time low? What amazes me is that 18% of those surveyed actually approve of what congress is doing. The spectacle of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi giddily crowing over another Democrat victory in a special election showed exactly what is wrong in Washington. They are more worried about election results than the welfare of the average American.

This is why I advocate not voting for incumbents. We may lose a few good people, very few, by doing so but there is a good chance we won't do any worse than we have in the past by returning incumbents to office year after year.

DON'T VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS !!!!!

If you vote for incumbents I'll be more FURIOUS than I already am.
